Coconut Oil

A truly healthy diet wouldn't be complete without virgin, organic coconut oil. This amazing super food has so many uses, from cooking and "frying" to making raw foods taste amazing, to skin and hair care.
In this section of the site, I'm going to be talking about the many benefits of this amazing oil, how and where to find the BEST quality oil, and how not to get ripped off by outrageous prices, only to find out you've come home with an inferior product that's overly processed and stripped of its nutrients. (Yes, that can even happen when you shop at the health food store.)
Unfortunately, this near perfect oil is often confused as a bad saturated fat. Many people (even some so called nutrition experts) will lump it in with harmful fats simply because it's solid at room temperature. On the contrary, it's really one of the healthiest fats on the planet. It is a medium-chain fatty acid (MCFA). This means it's converted to energy in your body quickly instead of being stored as fat. MCFAs are really rare, which is possibly why they're wrongly categorized as a different type of fat.
